- The Breeder guarantees that the above-listed cat is a purebred Maine Coon with an accurate pedigree and is eligible for registration with The International Cat Association (TICA).
- The cat has been vaccinated against Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, Chlamydia felis, and Feline Leukemia, and is free of internal parasites at the time of transfer. The Breeder does not vaccinate for Rabies and does not recommend administering it before six (6) months of age. No guarantees are made regarding Coronavirus testing, as current tests are non-specific and cannot distinguish between strains. There is no guarantee against FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis).
- This kitten is guaranteed for two (2) years against the genetic conditions Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) and Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). If diagnosed within this period, the Breeder will offer either a replacement kitten (if available; shipping at the Buyer's expense) or refund the original adoption fee (excluding shipping costs), at the Breeder’s discretion. A diagnosis of HCM must be confirmed by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist. PKD must be diagnosed via ultrasound by a qualified veterinarian.
- The Breeder screens breeding cats for Hip Dysplasia. However, the condition can still appear in kittens even when parents show no signs. If the kitten develops severe hip dysplasia requiring surgery within the first two years, the Breeder will contribute up to one-half (½) of the adoption fee (excluding shipping) toward corrective surgery. Diagnosis must be confirmed via OFA or PennHIP certification and must indicate that surgery is necessary.
- If, during the initial veterinary examination (within 48 business hours of receiving the kitten), a diagnosis is made of any illness other than a minor, stress-induced upper respiratory infection (e.g., herpesvirus), the Buyer must provide a written report signed by the examining veterinarian, including the diagnosis and all supporting test results. The Breeder reserves the right to request a second opinion from a veterinarian of the Breeder’s choice, at the Breeder’s expense. Upon confirmation of the diagnosis, the Breeder agrees to contribute up to one-half (½) of the purchase price of the cat toward the cost of treatment.
All kittens are raised in a socialized, loving home environment. No permanent kennels or cages are used.
